Abstract: |
Nineteen trenches were excavated across three fields to evaluate the land as part of archaeological investigations along the route of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. Pits, ditches and gullies were excavated, but very little dating evidence was found. The majority of artefacts excavated were of post-medieval date. Most of the features were probably associated with post-medieval agricultural activities. Two gullies were found, sealed by colluvium, which may have been prehistoric, although no dating evidence was recovered. [Au(abr)] |
