Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during topsoil stripping prior to the construction of two houses, in order to determine whether archaeological remains associated with a possible Romano-British settlement in the area would be disturbed. Made-up ground containing modern bricks and pipes was recorded, but no archaeological features were observed. It was concluded that any features which may have existed at the site had probably been destroyed by quarrying or by a former golf course clubhouse. [Au(abr)] |
