Abstract: |
An evaluation excavation was undertakn on the site of the proposed development of poultry houses. Six trenches revealed pits, gullies and ditches containing variable quantities of Romano-British pottery and animal bone. One trench appeared to contain a possible prehistoric posthole. The frequency of features and the nature of the ceramic and faunal assemblages implied domestic activity in the vicinity of the Roman road of King Street. [Au] |
