Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of engineering test-pits, at a site which lay slightly east of an area where medieval pits, wells and structures had been recorded in 1960. Brick structures were revealed, which may have related to post-medieval cellars, and evidence of possible medieval pit fills was noted. It was concluded that considerable activity may have occurred at some distance from the earlier street frontages. [AIP] |
