Abstract: |
The archaeological evaluation revealed the remains of a brick floor with a crushed chalk foundation probably related to the 19th century stables. A deposit of silty sand lay beneath the floor. The sand layer overlaid what appeared to be a head deposit, which overlaid the weathered upper chalk deposits. Only one sherd of 19th/20th-century pottery was found associated with the floor. [Au] |
