Abstract: |
As a result of an archaeological condition on the planning permission for the construction of two houses an archaeological evaluation was undertaken. Two trial trenches were located across the proposed development area. Seven features were investigated, one of which was shown to be modern and one natural in origin. Of the remaining features, four were likely to have been post-medieval, but the fifth, a butt-ended linear, appeared to be securely dated to the 10th-12th century. From other evidence in the vicinity, it was considered unlikely that this feature existed in isolation. [Au(abr)] |
