Abstract: |
No sites of specific scientific interest were identified within the proposed development area. The 'Moor Ashes' name for the field originally containing the site may have indicated previous industrial activity. The topographical situation of the site meant that it was unlikely that medieval tidal marsh extended this far, although there was a potential for the accumulation of hillwash in the lower, northern, part of the site. This location would also have been attractive to early prehistoric settlers. No archaeological features were observed within the site area, and no information regarding any geotechnical investigations was available. [Au(adp)] |
