Abstract: |
A watching brief during the construction of the Great Yarmouth to Caister on Sea rising main revealed two timber quayside structures, one which had been constructed of re-used boat timbers, shown by dendrochronological analysis to post-date 1270, and a second built using timbers probably prepared for boat construction but never actually utilised for this purpose. A collapsed section of the town wall was observed, along with part of an external ditch previously observed elsewhere along its length.[Au(abr)] |
