Abstract: |
<summary>A series of archaeological studies was undertaken as part of a continuing programme of research into the history of the site of St Mary's Priory Church (Scheduled Ancient Monument, Northamptonshire 154), and also in connection with the rebuilding of a former retaining wall. The studies comprised topographical and geophysical surveys in addition to the recording of grave memorials in the churchyard. Possible evidence of antiquarian excavation of the former priory church was noted, and a wall, which had probably been built by Sir Henry Dryden as part of his restoration in the 19th century, re-exposed. {italon}Sec(adp)(10c){italoff} |
