Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a proposed redevelopment site on a housing estate. Prehistoric flints, Roman artefacts and early medieval pottery had been found in the surrounding area, and the course of a Roman road passed nearby. During the evaluation, prehistoric struck flints and medieval pottery were recovered. A probable Roman pit with roof tile fragments was found, and six 17th-18th century pits containing pottery were excavated. [AIP] |
