The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the conversion of 'The Stable Block' in order to fulfil a condition upon planning permission. This building was Listed and was associated with a 19th century mansion house. It was clear from the character of the evidence observed that the building had been considerably modified before the present redevelopment. That is, apart from the occassional brick fire-place, no fittings remained in situ. In addition, most, if not all, the lesser brick sub-divisions of the stable block had also been swept away. Some had survived as truncated foundations sealed beneath the concrete floor but all the stall divisions, feeing troughs etc. had been destroyed. The area was totally devoid of all finds. [Au(adp)]
