Abstract: |
Desk-based assessment, including a walk-over survey confirmed evidence of earthwork features within areas of ancient woodland and a mill site with medieval origins. No known archaeological features were likely to be impacted by the quarry proposals although below ground features were thought possibly to be present. The mill site would be impacted on by a screening mound. Mitigation stratagies including avoiding the mill site and enabling an archaeological watching brief to be undertakn in the Lawn Wood and Old Wood areas were suggested. [Au] |
