Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief conducted during ground works for a housing development revealed that the iste had been subject to extensive landscaping and ground reduction during the construction of a former factory, and no traces of insitu archaeological deposits survived in the centre and east of the site. A 'V' shaped ditch of unknown date, probably a continuation of that seen during the evaluation, was identified.Three unstratified artefacts were uncovered - 18th century lead glazed earthenware, late medieval pottery, and a possible worked flint.[Au(AIP)] |
