Abstract: |
As an annex to an earlier desk-based assessment further 19th century cartographic sources were researched in order to determine land practices and location of structures within the proposed quarry extension area and its immediate vicinity. The documents suggested that prior to enclosure the land had been heathland, and that land use from the mid-19th century had been arable. The position of a barn on the present site of Bucks Head Cottages was also established. [Au(abr)] |
