Abstract:
A number of test pits were excavated to evaluate the site of the Dominion Buildings in advance of redevelopment. Horizons of brickearth, possibly of prehistoric date, were found, and features possibly of the Late Saxon period also emerged. A brick pit, a common feature in the area, was also identified.[AIP]
