Abstract: |
An archaeological field evaluation was carried out on the site of a proposed development on land at 43 Countess Road, Amesbury. The investigations revealed variable depths of colluvium (hillwash deposits) overlying the weathered chalk or clay-with-flints subsoil. Despite the proximity of the site to a number of major prehistoric monuments and findspots only one, undiagnostic flint flake was recovered from the trenches. [Au] |
