Abstract: |
Excavations at the site confirmed the presence of significant archaeological remains forming part of a varied and complex Iron Age/Romano-British landscape. A number of ditches defined two phases of a sub-rectangular enclosure and field system, thought to date from the later Iron Age/Romano-British periods. Discrete pits and post-holes were identified within the enclosure, and artefactual and environmental assessments suggested evidence for domestic, industrial, and stock management activities taking place in or around the enclosure.
