Abstract: |
The monitoring undertaken during the construction of an extension to the Club House at Wanstead Golf Club, uncovered no evidence of any significant archaeological activity on site. However, the former presence of archaeology could not be totally dismissed as the site had been significantly disturbed by land reduction associated with the previous building occupying this site. The only significant feature was the remnants of an undated, but possibly late 18th century, graveyard boundary ditch, extending along and below the present eastern churchyard wall of St. Mary's Parish Church.
