Abstract: |
A desk-based study was undertaken to assess the likely impact of the proposed conversion and associated development of a redundant stone barn for residential purposes. The barn was a listed building (Grade II) and lay within the precincts of the former Bishop of Lincoln's Palace and associated fishponds, both of which are Scheduled Ancient Monuments. The proposal area was shown to probably contain important elements of a manorial farm and a moated enclosure. Further details were required to fully assess the impact of the propsed conversion works on the barn, and identify the level of recording that would be necessary. [AIP] |
