Abstract: |
A series of dumped deposits containing both domestic and building waste dating from the medieval period (13th to 15th century) through to the post-medieval period (16th to 18th century) were identified. These had artificially raised the land surface in excess of 1.0m. Cut into the dump deposits, a series of undated pits and floor foundation levels dating to the 17th/18th century were recorded. More modern structures, a garage, warehouse ad a dwelling had superseded these. Dating to the late 19th/20th century these were recently damaged by fire and consequently demolished leaving only their below ground foundations. [Au(abr)] |
