Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out during excavations for a garage and storeroom with associated soakaway and paving. Though the garden was originally a medieval plot, no evidence of medieval activity was recovered. The earliest dated context was a mixed 19th century infill layer that lay above a thin subsoil that in turn lay above natural gravel. The depth of the 19th century layers suggested infilling.
