Abstract: |
Eleven sample trenches were excavated to evaluate a site proposed for a housing redevelopment. A linear stone feature, aligned north-south and associated with a similar east-west feature to the south, was revealed. A spread of stony rubble was also contemporary. These feature, constructued from reused stone, were interpreted as modern garden features. A small assemblage of 18th and 19th century pottery representing 'back-garden' rubbish was retrieved.
