Abstract: |
The investigations identified that the entire site lay on land reclaimed from the foreshore of the natural harbour of Sutton Pool. Three phases of reclamation were identified. The artefacts recovered included late medieval pottery and post-medieval remains of buildings and pottery. A very rare 19th century clay pipe kiln filled with firing waste was also located. This was only the second such kiln known from Devon. [Au(abr)] |
