Abstract: |
Two trial trenches were excavated prior to the development of the site for three new buildings. This was followed by a watching brief on the excavation of the building footprints. A linear feature thought to date from the late post-medieval period contained three sherds of abraded Late Iron Age pottery and a possible small, abraded flint blade. Other features from the site contained residual burnt flint, suggesting that prehistoric activity occurred in the vicinity of the site. At least six other linear features were recorded from the site representing late post-medieval bedding trenches. These were cut into backfilled late post-medieval gravel extraction pits. [Au(adp)] |
