Abstract: |
Damp had become a serious problem affecting the ground floor of the gatehouse. Damp-proofing required the stripping of plaster from the walls of the gatehouse. The opportunity was taken to record the structure and fabric of the building. Examination of the fabric revealed several phases of the construction of the Gatehouse, and these were tied in closely with historic evidence. [AIP] |
