Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was carried out at Pontefract Hospital. 24 trenches were excavated of which five contained medieval and post-medieval features. Ditches and gullies found in some of the other trenches may have related to boundaries of the burgage. Post holes related to a structure whilst pits were associated with domestic and human waste disposal. Some archaeological features were heavily disturbed during landscaping associated with the construction of the hospital. [Au(adp)] |
