Abstract: |
Two trial trenches, each 10m by 2m, were fully excavated in response to a condition upon planning permission for the residential development of the site. Trench 1 revealed the remains of a small drain culvert truncated by a later, poorly-constructed, foundation wall, together with the badly-preserved remnants of a possible wall or buttress foundation. Trench 2 revealed a horizontally truncated wall foundation and evidence for possible brickearth extraction. All features appeared to have been of post-medieval date. [Au(adp)] |
