Abstract: |
Archaeological inspection of 93 test pits was undertaken. The pits were excavated as part of a geological survey. No significant below ground archaeological deposits were noted. It would seem the original construction of the M6 carriageway had a profound destructive effect on the potential survival of archaeological features. The location of the pits was determined by geological requirements not archaeological. Further investigation was recommended in the vicinity of known archaeological sites. [Au(abr)] |
