Abstract: |
The watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of drain trenches. Evidence of the surrounding deserted medieval settlement was visible as earthworks. However, evidence was uncovered for a building standing close to the churchyard. This was supported by evidence held in the SMR of a cruck and box timber-framed house standing in the field to the east of the church. This house had been the last surviving domestic building from the medieval settlement until it was demolished in 1907. [Au] |
