Abstract: |
Following the earlier discovery of a fish wier during previous phases of the quarry extension, a second fish wier was revealed. This consisted of oak timbers consisting of at least three lines of posts, and wattle and daub panels. Bundles of brushwood weighted with local sandstone were uncovered at the base of the wattle panels. Part of a deer antlerr was also recovered from an organic silty clay deposit. Fragmentary bones were also found, including a human tibia shaft.[AIP] |
