Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during ground disturbance works associated with the construction of two houses and the conversion of a mill building into two dwellings. Earlier desk-based assessment had identified that the site may have been consistently used as a water-powered mill complex since 1257. The present building was Listed, and had formed the subject of an earlier building recording exercise. During the watching brief, it was found that all archaeologically significnat horizons appeared to have been removed during construction of the present building. [AIP] |
