Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of footings for a new church hall, situated immediately to the north of an 11th century church. A sherd of 6th-7th century pottery and an undated iron spearhead had been found in the churchyard. During the watching brief, two brick vaults and a small number of inhumations dating from the early 19th to the early 20th century were recorded, and a number of shallower 19th century grave cuts were noted.
