Abstract:		 The assessment comprised a documentary search and visual inspection of local archaeological data. No sites of archaeological interest lay within the site for proposed development. However, four SAMs lay within a 4 mile radius of the site: Rochford Hall (SAM County No. 37), Prittlewell Priory (SAM County No. 37), Prittlewell Camp (SAM County No. 117) and Southchurch Hall and Moated Site (SAM County No. 196). Examination of the Essex SMR identified no sites within the development area, but 72 entries were noted in the vicinity. The most significant of the entries included Roman deposits, a crouched Late Neolithic burial and several isolated find spots of Iron Age, Bronze Age, Roman and medieval dates. [Au]
