Abstract: |
A watching brief was undertaken over groundworks for the erection of an extension. Although the site lay in an area of historical interest, there was no evidence for early occupation identified in the excavated trenches. There did appear to be large scale dumping of soil and stone. It was considered probable that there had been quarrying in the area which was subsequently filled in. There was no useful dating information on the possible historical context for either the quarrying or the subsequent infilling. [Au] |
