Abstract: |
The desk-based assessment for the site of the Countryman Inn, Station Road, Great Bowden, Leicestershire, indicated that it lay outside the historic core of the village. A substantial east-west linear spread of Roman material, possibly evidence for a small town, lay to the south-west of Great Bowden along the Ridgeway 200 m south-west of the development site.
