Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment was undertaken in response to a condition upon planning permission for the erection of four houses, garages and gardens. The assessment demonstrated, on the basis of all available evidence, that the site had a low archaeological potential for all past periods of human activity. As recently as 1935 the site lay in open agricultural land. Because of the sites low archaeological potential and the severe impact of previous development, it was considered unlikely that the proposed developed would have any significant archaeological impact.
