Abstract: |
Machine trenching to evaluate land proposed for development was undertaken in two areas. Investigations of an area of potential Bronze Age settlement suggested that a previously recorded pit may best be interpreted as an isolated burial feature. A boundary ditch, cultivation terrace and a small number of pits were also identified. Within an area of potential Neolithic activity/settlement one distinct focus of activity was identified represented both by artefact concentrations and ephemeral subsurface features. Based on the recovered artefacts, a Bronze Age, rather than Neolithic date however was suggested. [AIP] |
