Abstract: |
The excavations concluded that medieval Tynemouth expanded rapidly in the 13th and 14th centuries, and then went into a state of decline with shrinkage of the village until the 19th century. It was evident from the orientation of the medieval post hole structures that the planned village took on a row form orientated east-west. [Au] |
