Abstract: |
<summary2>An auger survey was undertaken in order to investigate the potential of, and develop a methodology for, structured auger survey as a tool in the archaeological assessment of flood-plain areas. It was concluded that although substantial palaeomorphological features could be detected, the expense and level of definition made trial-trenching a more favourable option. Nonetheless, it was felt that such surveys did have a role to play in archaeological assessment. {italon}AIP{italoff} {italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} 6008.07 |
