Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief took place during the excavation of four foundation pits for the construction of a new air conditioning unit and enclosure to the rear of the Halifax Bank building at 6 Market Place, Wokingham. Remains of a brick wall and possible chimneystack base of post-medieval origin were recorded and two sherds of post-medieval pottery were recovered. The structure remains had been demolished and a deposit of made ground added to level the area. No remains of medieval date were observed. [Au] |
