Abstract: |
A strategy of archaeological evaluation (12 trial trenches) at Moss Carr Wood in advance of proposed opencast coal extraction confirmed the existence of a number of ditches that formed three enclosures, previously identified by a combination of aerial photography and geophysical survey. The work also established that other cropmark anomalies did not represent an archaeological enclosure. No finds were recovered from any of the features sampled. [Au(abr)] |
