Abstract:
The evaluation was carried out on land that was previously occupied by a gasworks. The size and extent of this previous development was thought to mitigate against the survivial of any pre-19th century archaeology. Although the structures were thought to be of interest with regard to the industrial archaeology of the area. The degree of contamination on the site precluded the value of any further work.
