The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 An evaluation was carried out at a proposed development site which had been marginal or waste land in medieval times, and had not been drained and cultivated until the late post-medieval period. Two ditches of similar character were revealed, one of which was excavated and found to contain a field drain. Two fragments of burnt flint and a piece of late medieval or post-medieval tile were recovered, but no further artefacts other than modern demolition debris were observed. It was noted that two main drainage ditches crossed the site on the same alignment as the features encountered. It was recommended that the remaining six evaluation trenches which were to have been excavated should be abandoned. [AIP]
