Abstract: |
Thrity evaluation trenches were excavated across the site to determine the presence and absence of archaeological features within the study area. Twenty Iron Age features were recorded across the eastern half of the site including field ditches, post holes, gullies, ditches or perhaps hollow ways. Most of those that were excavated produced pottery of Middle to Late Iron Age date as well as burnt flint. Two medieval features were recorded in the south-east corner of the site: a small pit and a dew pond. Post-medieval field drains truncated the natural subsoil and some of the features across much of the site.[Au(abr)] |
