Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was carried out. The site lay in the north-east corner of the medieval settlement of Houghton-Le-Spring. Former earthworks indicated that the site lay within a settlement area and was also close to the spring, which was now covered. The former farm might have medieval origins - the earthworks and watercourses indicated a possibility. [Au(adp)] |
