Abstract: |
<summary>A short trial excavation was carried out in the cellar of this property, in advance of building works. The site lies close to the line of the north wall of the north aisle of the former St Mary's Church, but no remains of the church were revealed during the course of the investigation. Removal of a recent concrete floor exposed an earlier cobbled floor, with much coal dust and an intact 20th century bottle; beneath this was undisturbed fluvial gravel. {italon}Sec(adp)(11c){italoff} |
