Abstract: |
The watching brief did not observe any archaeological features. A probable late prehistoric was noted across the whole of the site that indicated the site lay in an area of fen close to the dry gravel peninsula. A depression in the natural layer was partly filled by the peat deposit but was likely to have been of natural origin. Modern artefacts (pottery and brick) were observed in the topsoil but were not retained. No earlier artefacts were recovered during the watching brief. [Au(abr)] |
