Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in advance of the construction of domestic dwellings and associated works. A total of six trenches were excavated, five contained archaeological features. These were all ditches, which produced no dating material. Parallel ditches of the type encountered on the site were known in this area and were referred to as dielands or darlands, agricultural drainage features in use from the medieval period through the post-medieval period.
