Abstract: |
A metal detecting survey was carried out prior to a development. There were sufficient numbers and concentration of signals at this site to show that significant metal objects were present at the site. It was in one of these areas of concentrated signals, i.e. the south-eastern boundary, that previous archaeological work had shown not just a Roman coin hoard but archaeological Roman stratigraphy, which suggested a wider presence of Roman archaeology at this site.
