Abstract: |
A watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of a pipeline trench. The route of the pipeline traversed an area of archaeological interest with activity dating from the medieval period onwards. Preserved beneath the modern road surface were former boundary walls and a ditch. These indicated some change in the village layout, but remained undated. A stone drain and three pits were also encountered in the investigation, though their function remained obscure. No finds were retrieved. [Au] |
